“Welcoming Love in Action”
Passage: 1 Timothy 6:17-18
God shows us His love this Advent Season by providing us His Gift of Forgiveness through His Son, Jesus Christ. We come humbly before God this season accepting His Love Gift.
What is love? The Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians that “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud…” We believers get to share God’s infinite love with all those that we encounter in our daily lives. With this love we put our Faith and Hope in God rather than worldly things.
We demonstrate this by giving and sharing with others this season and all year long what God has provided for us. So many people have suffered great losses this year; loved ones, health, relationships, food sources, employment, homes, the list grows long. Paul speaks to us, 1 Timothy 6:17 to not put our hope in this world but to put our “hope in God, who richly provides us everything for our enjoyment.” God’s provisions are for us to share and bless others in need. How we do this sharing has been left up to us by God. It could be shared in word or deed with a cheerful heart. Our challenge is preparing our hearts to be givers. Each day this Advent season we get to set up purposeful acts of giving to others and add spontaneous giving as God leads our hearts.
Prayer: Dear Father, God, we come to you with humble hearts. Thank you for your blessings and providing us hope in you. We ask that you lead us to show your love toward others in acts of deed and words. There are many with unmet needs that we petition your direction to give to those in need. Amen
