On Sunday, November 21st, a great time was had by all as families came together to learn about Advent traditions. We started talking about WAITING…for something great to happen, which in this case is the birth of our Savior.
Parents and grandparents worked with their children to make an Advent Wreath, an Advent Countdown Calendear, and a Tale of Three Trees banner. They learned about what a Jesse Tree was and took home a tree to complete during the 4 weeks of Advent. Finally, we topped the day off by learning about Jesus’ celebration of Hanukkah and a Hanukkah tradition called the Dreidel game.
All these wonderful traditions are meant to help families focuses on what Christmas is all about…Jesus!
A great big thank you to Mary Jo Caliguire, Carol Sue Hutchinson, Bonnie Hudson, Maggie Benton and Debby Powers for helping to lead the activities!
