On Saturday, November 13th, Beymer Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts participated in the American Flag retirement ceremony. They learned the proper way to retire a worn or tattered flag that should not be flown due to its condition. This ceremony is evidence of our utmost respect and honor for the Flag.
The scouts learned about the American flag, and what the colors mean. Every scout and adult that attended took turns taking a piece of the properly cut-up flag and placing it on the fire. The pride and emotions that it evokes make it a very powerful event that can serve as a reminder of our National Pride and help develop good citizenship in our youth.
