I was born and raised in Orlando (yes, a real Floridian!) and grew up in the FUMC of Orlando. My mother was the church pianist and pianist for several city and community events. My earliest memories are of sitting on the piano bench with her as she played for so many services, classes, weddings, receptions, etc. When I was 3, shd began teaching me basic notes and tunes, When I started elementary school, I took lessons from a piano teacher down the street. I walked to her house at 7:00 two mornings a week for her lessons and then walked to my school afterward. That is when I became a morning person!

I continued school in Orlando and eventually attended Florida Southern Colledge in Lakeland followed by USF in Tampa. I became a special education teacher, this is one of the most rewarding positions a person can have. After 35 years, I am now retired, living with my wonderful husband George, and enjoying playing the music I learned so long ago from my mother.
